Effective date: to be set at launch.
Counted helps you document and estimate your own work, including your time, breaks, notes, receipts, mileage, tips, expenses, and pay. It is a personal tool. It is not a payroll, accounting, tax, or legal service, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and us.
Estimates only
Every figure Counted shows you is an estimate. That includes hours, overtime, premiums, pay, mileage, tips, and expenses, and it includes everything in Counted Pro. These are estimates for your own reference. They are not official payroll figures, they are not tax figures, and they are not legal determinations of what you are owed.
The estimates are only as good as what you give them
Counted calculates from what you enter, scan, or import, and it cannot know what you did not tell it. If your punches, rates, breaks, addresses, receipts, or pay rules are missing, out of date, or wrong, your results will be wrong for the same reason. Recording carefully and reviewing what you recorded is the single thing that most affects whether Counted is worth anything to you.
General information about pay and leave rules
Counted may show you general information about wage, hour, and leave rules, and it may offer presets you can apply to your own hours. All of it is general information. It is not written for your employer, your contract, your job, your city, or your situation, and none of it has been reviewed against them. These rules also differ from one state and one city to the next, and they change, sometimes in the middle of a year. Where Counted shows you a rule, it shows you the date that information was current. If the date is old, treat it as old. None of this is legal, tax, or accounting advice, and none of it is a substitute for advice from someone who knows your circumstances.
Pay rules are complicated
Overtime, holiday, premium, meal and rest, and above all union and collective-bargaining rules vary by employer, by location, and by contract. Counted’s presets are a convenience for common situations. They may not match yours, and where they do not, the figure Counted gives you will be wrong without saying so. Your contract governs, not our preset.
Documents you create
If Counted helps you produce a report, a reimbursement request, a dispute letter, or anything similar, that document is yours. You prepared it, from entries you made, using a form we supplied. We do not review it, we do not check whether it is accurate or appropriate for your situation, we do not advise you on whether or how to use it, and we do not represent you. Counted is not a law firm and cannot act as one. If a document matters, have someone qualified look at it before you send it.
Receipt scanning and mileage
When Counted reads a receipt from a photo, it is doing its best with an image, and it will sometimes be wrong. When Counted calculates a distance, it estimates from the address you gave it, which is not necessarily the route you drove. Check both.
Your records are your responsibility
Always check your hours and pay against your employer’s official records and your own contract. Counted is a place to keep your side of the story. It is not proof, it is not an audit, and it does not decide anything. For questions about your pay or your rights, talk to your employer, your union, or a qualified professional.
By using Counted you acknowledge that it is a personal documentation and estimating tool, and that final responsibility for the accuracy of your time and your pay rests with you.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Counted account and every record in it at any time, in any of three ways: from inside the app under Settings → Account; from this page, without installing anything; or by writing to support@countedapp.com from the address on your account. Deletion is permanent and finishes within thirty days.
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription, and we cannot cancel one for you. Cancel that through the App Store or Google Play before you delete, or you will keep being billed for an app you no longer have.
